@topgold I'm not a big i-tunes fan. I like Miro for subscribing to video and I think you're already using the excellent media monkey for audio management and syncing

Thanks Damian, I've had bad experience with portable dvd players specifically in regards to durability, but maybe that was the cheaper models. Although i would prefer a solid state drive. I think they take a bit more punishment. I did considered an ipod touch but i think i might be thinking more of myself there .... and i guess the screen is a bit small. As to knowing all the childrens songs ... God i hear you - i find myself humming the tune to Dora the explorer at work ... sweet jaysus !!! @conoro is saying the nokia n770 internet tablet might be a good choine and good value too ... must check out.

I hate ... "HATE" reality TV - can't stand big brother, can stand survivor - lowest common denominator TV ... IQ draining bilge... you get the idea. I had heard nothing about Top Chef at all, but I'd gotten season 2 after a glowing @conoro recommendation. I though it was just like a cook off, but when I started to watch my heart sank. It initially seemed to me, like it was shaping up to be MTV's "the real world" meets masterchef. But I gave it a few episodes and ... what can i say ... it's brilliant - bitch difficult cooking challenges, little time to plan and execute each task, restricted ingredients, but fantastic dishes created in spite of limitations. You see real cullinary skill here. It has its minor faults, not enough time spent on each dish and too much with the lingering elimination drama, but other than that its really quite addictive. Oh and Padma is hot!!
