I hate ... "HATE" reality TV - can't stand big brother, can stand survivor - lowest common denominator TV ... IQ draining bilge...
you get the idea.
I had heard nothing about Top Chef at all, but I'd gotten season 2 after a glowing @conoro recommendation.
I though it was just like a cook off, but when I started to watch my heart sank. It initially seemed to me, like it was shaping up to be MTV's "the real world" meets masterchef.
But I gave it a few episodes and ... what can i say ... it's brilliant - bitch difficult cooking challenges, little time to plan and execute each task, restricted ingredients, but fantastic dishes created in spite of limitations.
You see real cullinary skill here.
It has its minor faults, not enough time spent on each dish and too much with the lingering elimination drama, but other than that its really quite addictive.
Oh and Padma is hot!!
It just draws you in, doesn't it? Sure they edit the hell out of it to create goodies and baddies but it still works. Padma just gets hotter with each passing episode. Season 4 winner was on Restaurant Guys podcast last week so be careful if you don't want to know who won.

TBH, it was pretty obvious from Episode 2 onwards.
